The Chubbuck Technique weekly classes

All classes are on-going and a minimum commitment of 3 months is required.

Beginners/intermediate Chubbuck with Frank
Tuesday evening 19h till 22h – Wednesday morning 10h till 13h.

Advanced Chubbuck with Frank

Wednesday evening 19h till 22h

All new beginners students must audit one of the “Chubbuck intensive workshop” prior to enrolling in the beginners on-going classes.

All new students with experience MUST participate in a “Chubbuck intensive workshop” prior to enrolling in the weekly Advanced on-going Chubbuck  classes.

The  “Chubbuck intensive workshop” and Advanced on-going classes are given by Frank Feys, founder of the Actors Workshop. Frank is the only accredited teacher of the Chubbuck technique in Spain with 20 years experience as a teacher and over 60 Tv and film credits.

Beginners and intermediate level classes are given by Amanda Goldsmith, a 4 year active alumni of the Actors Workshop.

The entrée level of each student is different and will be decided by Amanda and Frank based on experience, commitment and progression.

Students will explore the Chubbuck 12- step acting technique which will help them to break down scripts and create 3 dimensional characters.

The Chubbuck Technique teaches actors how to use their emotions not as an end result, but as a way to empower a goal. The actor must understand himself thoroughly and have the tools to break down a script in order to make interesting and dynamic behavior appear and feel like a subconscious process. The Chubbuck Technique stimulates this behavior, allowing for this natural and powerful human drive to be realized.

Some of the actors Ivana Chubbuck has worked with, as an acting coach and teacher, during her 25-plus year career include Academy Award winners and nominees: Halle Berry, Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron, Terence Howard, Jake Gyllenhaal, Elisabeth Shue, Catherine Keener, Kate Hudson, Jon Voight, Djimon Hounsou and Travis Fimmel. Virtually every year, Ivana’s students are well represented at the Academy Awards, Emmys, Golden Globes, Tony Awards, and many other international awards. For the 2006 Academy Awards, Ivana’s students were nominated in every acting category: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
